AVVF
Audio Visual Vector Format
The Audio Visual Vector Format AVVF shifts the paradigm of media storage from pre-rendered arrays of values (pixels and audio samples) to algorithmic instructions (mathematical shapes, scene graphs, paths, synthesis parameters, and control curves).
It contains only the information needed to generate the audio-visual output, not the actual output itself. It holds information about the generation of presentations rather than the presentation itself. This is the key to enabling lossless scaling across temporal as well as the three physical axes.
AVVF files can be opened in 10 years’ time and be rendered at whatever standard is available then. The information contained is independent of the delivered output quality and format generated from it.
Future-proof by design: the information in an AVVF file is independent of the delivered output quality and format generated from it.
Scenes, triggers, and snapshots remain available for lossless scaling across time and the three physical axes.
Lossless Up or Down Scaling
Key controls and attributes contained within a scene remain accessible without loss of visual quality, a change in tonal character, or frame rate artefacts. You can change a scene’s tempo, base pitch, frame rate, or dimensions without losing quality (except for embedded video footage itself).
Scenes and Triggers
Although AVVF scenes have a beginning, they have no end. This is by design. AVVF scenes are built around triggers. Triggers can be loops, a user interaction, or derived from state evaluation. Triggers can be conditional. Probability gates allow triggers to appear random, yet still remain in sync.
Application State Snapshots
Snapshots are groups of audio-video component parameters and their values. Consumers extract these in order to morph from one state into another. Control elements of parameters that are transitioning this way are animated. Depending on what needs to be delivered, slider handles may move in real time on an HTML page, or they may be rendered according to frame rate and size settings when exported as video footage. The state can get evaluated against other states and actions can be based on the outcome.
